Follow Up Friday

The world is kind of on fire at the moment. We would like to say that France breaks our hearts, Turkey is confusing us and the attacks in the US are infuriating.

Taking things issue by issue:
1. The Police Shootings and the Shooting of Police
America is a free country, not the freest but pretty darn free. When police use force, it’s a matter of record. Each incident is reviewed. As aggravated as people are with police in this country, they have no clue what a violent and corrupt police force really looks like.

This is what a violent and corrupt police force looks like:

See, in America, a drug dealer gets a hero’s welcome into martyrdom if he dies by the hands of the police in circumstances that are even remotely questionable. In the Philippines, just being known as a drug dealer could very well be a death sentence, and the same .38 revolver might be found on your corpse that was found on dozens of others shot by police earlier that same month.

If you don’t see the difference between that and here you’re a crazy person. If you aren’t a crazy person, you should be able to state your complaint against US Law Enforcement in a reasonable and logically CASE by CASE basis. Gun is up in arms about Philando Castille, Tech is still protesting the death of Eric Garner, but both of them know that those cases are unique and not all police officers are the same. If you think it’s okay to physically attack any or all police because of a situation that upsets you, you are a crazy person. Don’t be crazy, talk it out.

2. France, the Nice Attack

The Podcaste is disgusted by terrorism and we hope that death comes quickly to the enemies of France and Freedom. We whole heartedly encourage the mother of mohamed lahouaiej bouhlel to kill herself, being that a public and painful suicide is the only fitting way to apologize to the world for spawning and failing to raise properly such disgusting filth as her child.

3. Turkey

It sort of looks like there’s a military coup d’etat in Turkey. We are waiting for more info to make our conclusions.

Don’t like our take? Let us know what you think, we’re all in this together so let’s talk it out.

Baltimore Panda Bomber/Weekend Review

Tech and Gun recap the week of posts and also bring up the panda attack in Baltimore… which turned out to be a hedgehog attack, looks like Tech was right on that hattip to twitchy:     http://twitchy.com/brettt-3136/2016/04/28/confirmed-baltimore-unitard-bomber-dressed-as-hedgehog-not-panda-motive-revealed/ (but no, twitchy, it wasn’t a “unitard” because that means a one piece leotard. You mean”pajamas” or the more modern term “onesie,” you idiots… seriously,  twitchy)

Keep talking it out!

Are Turkish People Mentally Ill?

I hope that headline is upsetting, as upsetting as a pro-genocide demonstration. Did the Armenian genocide happen?  If so was it a bad thing?  These might seem like crazy questions that only a complete psychopath would have trouble answering but there are people that think acknowledgement and condemnation of a horrible thing that happened a century ago is just terrible for them.  Can you relate?

The 1st Protest: “Armenian Americans Protest Genocide Denial”

The counter protest:

We have a strange relationship with Turkey and the whole thing gets weirder by the minute.  The conservatives are taking over the once secular government and are pushing the people more towards religion and jingoism.  The people who get the short end of that are typically the indigenous peoples, ethnic tribes and other minorities.  Their support of the shooting down of a Russian plane was perplexing to say the least.  Russia was fighting terrorists and racking up a serious body count when Turkey, a country supposedly, presumably against the Islamic state, shoots down a Russian plane!  What’s going on there?  What is wrong with their leadership?

Turkey vs. The Kurds

Don’t know what a Kurd is?  Well, they’ve been the ones doing most of the heavy lifting in the fight against the Islamic state.  They are not just, generally, our ally in the region, they are an indigenous people group who, like the Native Americans in the US, had family and culture long before the majority race/religion took over the region.  Kurdish historians trace their lineage all the way back to the ancient Persian times, even pre-Cyrus the Great.

Earlier this year I had the pleasure of meeting with one of the Kurdish men protesting the Turkish military encroachment on Kurdish areas.

Here’s Azad Kobane who posts up across from the Turkish embassy sometimes.
